The great news is that we've had lots of families successfully complete online programs with us! Our meal plans feature simple, filling, family-friendly meals that are well-suited for everyone.
There's no problem with kids of any age quitting sugar. It’s well documented that sugar causes tooth decay, behavioural problems, obesity and can lead to type 2 diabetes in children, so it's one of the best things you can do for their health.
Children are little growing human beings that have a bucket load of nutritional requirements. Cutting out the obvious sugars like soft drinks and chocolate is a given, but it’s the added sugars in packaged foods and supposedly "healthy" foods like muesli bars and cereals that can prove more difficult.
We'd recommend kids follow the meal plans just as you would, with one exception - fruit! One to two servings of whole fruit is fine, but make sure you steer clear of dried fruit and fruit juices.
Leftovers and school lunch boxes usually don't mix, so check out some lunchbox ideas from the IQS team here.
Babies and small children
Too many supermarket food options for babies and toddlers are packed with sugar, sodium and preservatives. Providing our children with healthy and nutrient-dense meals will support their development and help them form healthy eating habits that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.
IQS recipes are suitable for all members of the family and are designed by our in-house nutritionists to ensure they're nutritionally balanced. If serving IQS recipes to your child isn't an option just yet, certain Program meals can be pureed or you can make your own IQS approved sugar-free baby puree recipes.
We know it can be hard to get temperamental toddlers to eat their veggies, so we have plenty of tips on our website to help you have success at the kitchen table.
If you're looking for more inspiration, look no further than our Kids Cookbook, which is a roundup of all our favourite kid-friendly recipes.
Also don't forget about the main IQS website and the thousands of recipes in the recipes archive.
