If the start date of your 8-Week Program or 7-Day Reboot is a few weeks away, there's still plenty you can do now to get prepared!
Login to the Program or Reboot site
It's a great idea to familiarise yourself with our site so you'll be able to navigate around the site easily once we get started. We have a number of guides that you can read with important tips to help you get started.
Set up your kitchen equipment
Read our IQS kitchen equipment essentials guide to make sure you'll have everything you need. We aim to keep things simple and you won't find anything too out of the ordinary on the list. If you're missing something, now is a great time to see if you can pick up one second-hand, borrow from a friend or family member or nab a bargain!
Set up your pantry
Read our IQS pantry essentials guide to see what core staples you'll need. If you're missing anything, now is a great time to keep your eyes peeled for any ingredients you can get on special.
This is also a great time to start clearing out any sugary or processed foods you have lurking in your pantry. Gift them to friends and family or put them out of sight, we don't think think you'll be needing these products anymore!
Create a freezer stash
If your freeze has seen nothing but ice cubes, vodka and ice-cream in the past, it's about to get a whole lot of lovin'! Read our create a freezer stash guide for some inspiration about how you can get started.
A full freezer makes preparing meals a breeze. You can buy seasonal veggies, meat and fish in bulk so you can both save some cash and have staples handy in the freezer for when you need them.
Start reducing your sugar consumption
There's lots of simple ways you can start reducing your sugar consumption now. Reducing how much of the sweet stuff you consume before you start will make the Program or Reboot experience easier and you might experience less detox symptoms than you would have otherwise.
Some simple swaps you can make is switching soft drinks and energy drinks for IQS friendly alternatives like kombucha, swapping low-fat products for full-fat (always!), swap sugary cereals for Weet-Bix or Vita Brits and sweeten with a little fresh fruit and yoghurt and swap store bought salad dressings with olive oil and a squeeze of lemon.
Share your sugar-quitting plans with your friends and family
Sometimes those closest to us can unintentionally sabotage our efforts to go sugar-free! We associate sugar with love and good times and our friends and family often want to treat us!
It's a great idea to let everyone around you know that you're quitting sugar so you can prepare in advance for any tempting situations or make sure you have some sugar-free treats on hand. And who knows, someone might decide to join you too!
Gentle exercise is so great for your mind and body. It's a great idea to start a routine now so you're feeling comfortable once the Program or Reboot starts. When you join the 8-Week Program, you'll receive a movement plan eBook that has some ideas for what you can do to get active.
